Samastha National Education Council
Samastha National Education Council is a higher-education initiative established under the Samastha Kerala Islam Matha Vidyabhyasa Board, in accordance with the guidance and vision of Samastha Kerala Jam'iyyathul Ulama. Conceived as a natural extension of Samastha's long-standing commitment to learning, SNEC represents a focused step toward strengthening higher education within the community.
SNEC works with the clear aim of the educational and social empowerment of the Muslim community. It seeks to nurture a generation grounded in religious consciousness while equally enriched with general knowledge, achieved through well-planned and effective educational pathways. Functioning under the active and informed leadership of Samastha's scholars and experienced educationists, SNEC has steadily expanded its reach: at present fifty educational institutions across Kerala and other Indian states operate under its affiliation.
**Objective.** To shape capable and talented individuals with strong religious consciousness by promoting an integrated model of religious and secular education grounded in moral values — and to establish a centralised, university-standard campus by bringing together the educational systems developed under SNEC within the guiding framework of Samastha Kerala Jam'iyyathul Ulama.

Chairman's message
The prime intention of education is to foster the overall development of the individual to its fullest calibre, both professionally and morally. It is with immense pride and honour that I present to you an educational platform that shall generate, in the coming years, an aura of professionals well versed in both Islamic and secular perspectives. At SNEC we provide the best national and international expertise to interact with our students. As the chairperson of SNEC I assure the students that they shall abide in the safest hands, with no compromise on quality education.
Samastha Kerala Jam'iyyathul Ulama
Samastha Kerala Jam'iyyathul Ulama is a distinguished scholarly movement with deep and lasting roots among the Muslims of Kerala. Since its formation on 26 June 1926, Samastha has stood at the forefront of guiding faith and values, protecting community rights and strengthening religious education. Over the decades it has earned respect as a moral and intellectual force that continues to shape the spiritual and social life of Kerala's Muslim community.
Fourteen feeder organisations carry forward Samastha's vision across community life. Through the Samastha Kerala Islam Matha Vidyabhyasa Board, Samastha nurtures primary religious learning. The Sunni Yuvajana Sangham (SYS) guides young people toward disciplined, value-centred lives; the Samastha Kerala Sunni Students Federation (SKSSF) supports students alongside their studies; and the Sunni Mahallu Federation (SMF) offers direction to the mahalls that form the foundation of community life.
Samastha's publications began with Al Bayan — first in Arabi-Malayalam and, from 1954, in Malayalam — and grew to include Al Muallim for madrasa teachers, Kurunnu for students, Santhushta Kudumbam for women, Sunni Afkar and the fortnightly Sathyadhara. The launch of the daily Suprabhaatham in 2013 marked a milestone in Malayalam news publishing.
Educational initiatives
In the main clause 'D' of its constitution, Samastha affirms that alongside the propagation of religious education, necessary attention must also be given to secular learning, in a manner that does not harm religious beliefs or rituals. Guided by this principle, Samastha established the Samastha Kerala Islam Matha Vidyabhyasa Board in 1951.
Today 11,014 madrasas provide primary religious education for classes 1 to 12 across Kerala, other Indian states, the Gulf countries, Malaysia and Lakshadweep, and the E-learning Madrasa serves students who cannot reach a classroom. The Board also guides Al-Birr and Asmi in school education and Falila-Faleela in women's education, sustains hundreds of Palli Dars — mosque-based centres of advanced religious learning — and the Arabic colleges for boys and girls from which SNEC grew.
Sanaae and Sanaa-iyya
The Mushawara, the consultative council of Samastha, meeting in Bengaluru on 28 January 2024, granted formal approval to the SNEC initiative. The same day, at the Samastha centenary inaugural conference at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, the Samastha President and SNEC Chairman announced Sanaae and Sanaa-iyya as the official degree titles of graduates of the Shari'a and SHE streams. The titles draw on a term used in the Hadith literature for radiance and eminence, and apply equally to the Shari'a Plus and SHE Plus streams.
SNEC Day — 16 March
On the day approved by Samastha Kerala Jam'iyyathul Ulama, the Central Office of the Samastha National Education Council was formally inaugurated at the Samastha office in Kozhikode, marking the official commencement of its activities.

QMS — Quality Management System
Three-phase inspections — affiliation, assessment and accreditation — with class-wise interaction, student assemblies and meetings with teachers, parents and management.
SAQAF accreditation
Grades institutions on administration, infrastructure and Nazafa, curriculum and Tarbiya, co-curricular work, research, digital advancement, community engagement and more.
Mentoring system
Every student is assigned to a teacher at the start of the year; progress is recorded in the Mentee Handbook.
Thafheem (FDP)
Expert-led sessions for principals and teachers: model classes, reflection sessions and teaching methodology.
Muqaddima
The centralised commencement of studies for every stream, under the guidance of Sayyids and senior scholars.
