Beyond the classroom
A campus year full of learning, creativity and service
From the Muqaddima induction in June to the Talents Meet and the Knowledge Festival, SNEC students learn together across colleges.
Programmes through the year
At the beginning of each academic year the centralised commencement of studies for the Shari'a, SHE, LIFE, Shari'a Plus, SHE Plus, LIFE Plus and Bayyinaath streams is conducted under the title Muqaddima. Held under the guidance of respected Sayyids and senior scholars, it is also a unifying gathering of students, teachers, parents and activists of Samastha.
Mentoring creates a close partnership with each student. At the beginning of every academic year specific students are assigned to each teacher; mentors identify gaps, address challenges and record progress in the Mentee Handbook so that student and mentor share an accurate view of growth.
Monthly classes by accomplished national and international faculty in Arabic, English and Urdu across a range of subjects — strengthening subject knowledge and giving students confidence in multilingual academic settings.
Takes students' abilities beyond the confines of the college, strengthens soft skills and fosters an active culture of knowledge exchange among SNEC students across institutions.
Arts competitions in creative expression, Arabic, English and Urdu proficiency, life skills and soft skills — nearly one hundred items under the Thanaviyya and Baccalauriyya categories, from college level to zonal and inter-zone finals.
Creativity Day: a platform to showcase and reward practical problem-solving, technology for religious teaching and da’wa, machines and equipment, and applications built by students.
A Mega Parents Meet with all parents: discussions on current activities and future plans, spiritual exhortations and collective du’a — strengthening the bond between families and the educational mission.
The SNEC Students' Organisation (SSO) works under the Dean of Students' Welfare with a central committee of councillors elected from each institution; it runs the Talents Meet and schemes for students' all-round development. Sanaais and Sanaa-iyyas have their own alumni organisations that support da'wa and SNEC programmes.
